OUR MISSION

Our mission is to enrich the lives of mobility impaired people with independence and freedom by empowering them to engage in outdoor activities they previously were unable to, free of charge

WHAT WE DO

David's Chair is a 501 C (3) nonprofit that allows people with mobility challenges to use track chairs and Para Golfers in multiple programs at no cost. We do not manufacture chairs or help people purchase mobility equipment. David's Chair has purchased and owns a fleet of track chairs and Para Golfers that they maintain for people to use free of charge. David's Chair also hosts events called excursions at various locations throughout the year. Excursions are designed to allow a person with mobility challenges to attend an event at a scheduled location and time and use one of our track chairs without needing to transport it.
In addition to Excursions we also offer the Tow and Go Program and Fixed Site Location Chair Program.
Read more about these options below and check our events page for Excursion dates as they are announced.

WHY WE DO IT

Users long for independence and freedom that mobility challenges take away. We want to help give them back.
Using the track chairs requires a lot of logistical work, which is why we have a team of people helping to transport and maintain the chairs, as well as train users how to use them.

HOW WE DO IT

David’s Chair makes dreams come true for people with mobility challenges in two ways, completely free of charge:
1. We check out our  all-terrain track chair wheelchairs for use on vacations, field trips, or whatever they choose
2. We take people and their families on exciting outdoor excursions to locations they otherwise wouldn’t be able to access

In 2000 I went through a life changing event. I suffered a spinal cord injury after diving into shallow water. I broke my neck at the C5/C6 level leaving me a quadriplegic. The outdoor activities that I took for granted were now no longer accessible for me. read more
